How Brooklyn does books.

Brooklyn celebrated its book-culture this weekend with the fifth annual Brooklyn Book Festival, a three-day shindig celebrating the literary chops of this most storied of boroughs. At Armchair/Shotgun, we kicked it off with the aforementioned Brooklyn Indie party at Greenlight Bookstore in Fort Greene.

The party, a celebration of Brooklyn’s independent houses and magazines, took place on Friday night.  The shop was packed to the gills, the wine flowed like wine, and we’re pretty sure we spotted an impressive number of literary who’s whos (It’s always hard to match a face with its dust-jacket).

We had a drink with BOMBmagazine, met the folks behind One Story, and ate more than our fair share of Oreos.

A nod to Greenlight for continuing to bring like-minds together, and for setting the tone and energy for a weekend steeped in talented folks and the stories they tell.
